Level One coaching course
Thought about developing your paddling skills? Would you like to become a Level 1 coach?
GLL are offering a Level one coaching course over 4 days : Fri 24, Sat 25, Sun26 & Mon 27 Feb 2012. There will be £100 discount for CCC members. The cost for non-members will be £250. CCC members will pay £150, with the condition that you need to pledge to give Castle Canoe Club 12 hours coaching time over 18 months.
All candidates will have to hold a new BCU 2 star (or old BCU 2 Stars in both Kayak and Canoe), have done Foundation Safety and Rescue Training (FSRT) and register with the BCU.
If you have not done 2*, GLL will run a 2 * assessment for £50.00 to Castle members.
GLL will also run a FSRT course - £50.00 to Castle members and £75 to non members. They will run this on a Sunday. This course is also highly recommended for anyone who paddles at the club and wants to learn about safety techniques on the West Reservoir and other still water.
There are possible grants to help with costs. Barbara can give you details if you are interested in the courses.

In order for the course to happen and to secure the booking of the course you need to pay Terry a £50.00 deposit and fill out application forms by Monday 28 November.
